Should Parliament license assistance with suicide?

An analysis of proposals currently before Parliament.

There are currently two Private Member bills in Parliament seeking to legalise assisted suicide – Lord Falconer’s Assisted Dying Bill in the House of Lords and Rob Marris MP’s Assisted Dying No.2 Bill in the House of Commons.  Living and Dying Well has published an analysis of these proposals.  At the time the report was written Mr Marris had not disclosed the terms of his bill and the report assumed, from the wording of its long title, that it would be similar to Lord Falconer’s.  This would appear, from the text of a bill distributed on 20 July at a campaigning meeting, to be a correct assumption, though Mr Marris’s bill has not yet been published on the Parliament website.  LDW’s analysis can be read below.
