Another ‘Assisted Dying’ Bill: Does it pass the public safety test?

An Analysis of the Assisted Dying Bill.

Lord Falconer’s Assisted Dying Bill had its First Reading in the House of Lords on 15 May.  This was the introduction of the Bill to Parliament and, as is usual on such occasions, there was no debate.  This will take place at Second Reading later this year.  A number of Peers have presented an analysis of the Bill in a report published by Living and Dying Well. They conclude that the bill is “not fit for purpose”.  The report may be accessed here.
