Deaths from euthanasia and assisted suicide in The Netherlands rise by 10 per cent
The Regional Euthanasia Review Committees in The Netherlands have presented their combined report covering Calendar Year 2016. The English-language version is not yet available. However, it is clear from the Dutch text that the number of reported cases of physician-assisted suicide (PAS) and physician-administered euthanasia (PAE) rose by over 10 per cent since 2015 and that the pattern of illnesses forming a basis for approving PAS and PAE is changing significantly. We will publish the English-language version when it appears. Here we publish the Dutch-language version.
