Swiss assisted suicide organisation Exit extends its services to the elderly

An article in The Telegraph has reported on the recent decision of the Swiss assisted suicide organisation Exit to extend its services to people who are elderly but not terminally ill.

Exit decided to add "suicide due to old age" to its statutes at an annual general meeting "to allow people suffering from psychological or physical ailments linked to old age the choice to end their life".

Bernard Sutter, Exit's vice-president, reportedly stated: "Our members told us to get active on this subject. It was ripe for a decision."
